I. Background
   A. Job's status
      i) greatest / wealthiest man in the East
      ii) man of integrity ; worshipped God
      iii) had a huge family and faithful life
   B. Satan's Condition
      i) fallen angel
      ii) thought people served God because of what they received
      iii) he thought everyone was evil deep down like himself
      iv) he was going to and fro seeking to destroy  I Pet 5:8
   C. God
      i) is in Heaven involved in the lives of his people
      ii) saw that Job was blameless and upright - a man of integrity

II. Job's Life On Earth
   A. Chief ( Emir ) of his area - respected by all
   B. Not a parable - a real man - Ezek 14:14-20 ; Jam 5:11
   C. Sacrifices to God when he thinks his children could have sinned

III. God's Deal With The Devil
   A. God meets with his angels in Heaven ; Satan attends the meeting
   B. God challenges Satan about Job's faithfulness
   C. Satan said that God bribed him to serve him - takes the good away & he would curse him
   D. God put everything under Satan's power EXCEPT Job's life and he would remain faithful

IV. Job's Tragedies In One Day
   A. Oxen & donkeys stole and servants killed by Sabeans
   B. Sheep and servants die by the " fire of God "
   C. Camels stolen and servants killed by Chaldeans
   D. Death of all his children by a huge wind

V. Job's Actions vs 20-22
   A. Released his grief to God
      - tore robe - shaved his head - fell to the ground
   B. Responded to God's greatness
      - worshipped God - did not curse
   C. Recognized God's Goodness
      - everything came from God - I will leave it all
   D. Refused to blame God
