GOD'S PLAN FOR MAN AND WOMAN
I Pet 3:1-7

I. Background
   A. God has a plan for his children  Jer 29:11
   B. God's plan for marriage is perfect but we are not working the plan
   C. Remember our three principles to live by
      i) God is the planner and he knows best
      ii) man is a sinner and rebels against God
      iii) a Christian is a humble servant that respects God's authority

II. Woman's Role
   A. Submit to your husbands in the way Christians submit to authority ( 2:12 ) and Christ submitted to his Father ( 2:23-25)
   B. Biblical submission is not by force or against our will ; we do it because it is in God's plan
   C. Submission recognizes the sovereignty of God
   D. He needs his ego stroked
                                                                                         
 III. Submission
   A. Purpose of submission
      i) provides order in the family
      ii) fulfills the need of the wife
      iii) it honors God
   B.God has delegated his authority as
      i) government - Acts 5:29
      ii) elders - I Peter 5 through example
      iii) children to the parents Eph 6:1
      iv) wives and husbands

IV. Man's Role
   A. Honor your wife - she is the partner God gave you for life
   B. We can honor her by really listening , carrying out the garbage , giving her the remote ; put her feelings ahead of yours
   C. Love your wife - Eph 5:25
   D. Submitting to her as all Christians must do  Eph 5:21
   D. How you treat your wife affects your ability to pray I Pet 3:7
