JESUS  LIAR , LUNATIC , OR LORD  

Mt 16: 13

I. Facts About Jesus
   A. He fulfilled Prophesy
      i) Announced he would come to Earth 483 years after Jerusalem was ordered
rebuilt - Dan 9:25
      ii) Be born of a virgin - Isa 7:14 Born in Bethlehem - Micah 5:4
      iii) Perform miracles - Isa 35 - 5-6
      iv) Betrayed by a friend - Ps 41:9
      v)  Crucified - Isa 53:12
      vi) Be raised from the dead - Ps 16:10
   B. He made many claims
      i) To be the Son of God and give Eternal Life - Jn 3:16
      ii) No man cometh to the Father except by him - Jn 14:6
      iii) Narrow is the way to Heaven - Mt 7:14
      iv) To have all power and authority - Mt 28:18
      v) Power to raise from the dead - Jn 10:18
      vi) Be one with God - Jn 14:6
      vii) Forgive sin - Lk 7:48
   C. Performed Many Deeds
      i) Healed the sick - Jn 9:7
      ii) walked on water - Mt 14:25
      iii) Multiplies loaves and fishes - Jn 6:5
      iv) Raised the dead - Mt 9:25

II. Was He A Liar ?
   A. He claimed to he a healer - he healed ( healing and food were 2 of the reasons many followed )
   B. If he was a liar the people that knew him would have refuted his statements
   C. If he was a liar the Jews and Romans don't put liars to death - they did because they were afraid of him
   D. His words have changed the world - by this time a liar's words would have been found out
   E. His empty tomb could not be refuted ; no other option than the Resurrection makes sense
   F. When he say he was going to die he would have recanted his lies ; would he die for a lie ?

III. Was He A Lunatic ?
   A. If he was diluted and believed he were God how could he have done the
miracles ?
   B. How  could the words of a Lunatic change the world ?
   C. Would sane stable men ( Fishermen , tax collectors , Sanhedren members , etc. ) have followed and died ?

IV. If Not Liar or Lunatic Then He Must Be Lord
   A. The question is not whether HE is a liar or lunatic ; the question is will we follow THE LORD ?
