THE LAW OF MOSES

I. The Tabernacle  
   A. A tent with two rooms - Holy and Holy of Holies Number 1:51- 2:34
   B. Built " exactly " as God directed - Heb 8:5
   C. Free will offerings supported its building - Moses had to stop their giving  Ex 35:1-36:6
   D. Furniture in Holy Place : alter  ; candlestick ; and table of show bread - Ex 25
   E. In Holy of Holies was the Tabernacle that included the 10 Commandments ; jar of manna ; and Aaron's rod
   F. In between the cherubim was the Mercy Seat when annually God rolled their sins forward ( only the blood of our Lord can forgive sin Heb 10:4-10 )
   G. Outside the Tabernacle was the alter of burnt offering - Lev 16:1-16
   H. Worship was required " exactly " like God directed - Nadab and Abihu - Num 3:4

II. Taking Canaan Land
   A. Twelve men were sent to spy out the land - only two said it could be done ( Joshua and Caleb )
   B. Because of their unbelief all died marching in the wilderness except Joshua and Caleb ( above twenty years old )
   C. Moses sinned when he told the people he was equal with God and God told him he could not enter the land Deut 34:1-2
   D. The Israelites took Jericho with the help of Rahab the harlot ; they crossed the Jordan on dry land Num 26:63

III. God Led The People By His Judges
   A. Great Judges like Deborah told the people what God wanted them to do
   B. Samuel was the last Judge but the people told him they wanted a King - God told him they were rejecting him not Samuel - God did not want the people to have a king

IV. Kings Rule
   A. Saul the first king was righteous for a while then he disobeyed God ( don't bring back spoils ) I Sam 15:8
   B. David was picked as the next King who had the " heart of God "
   C. David's son Solomon built the Temple that was designed like the Tabernacle
   D. After Solomon's death the kingdom was split in two - Israel and Judah with different kings
   E. The prophets predicted that God would establish a new kingdom with the whole world and gave  over 50 prophesies of the King ( out Lord ) - Isa 2:1-3 ; Dan 6: 1-11

V. Take Homes
   A. The Law of Moses was for Israelites Deut 5 : 1-5
   B. God blessed them when they obeyed " exactly " the way God directed ( e.g. building the tabernacle )
   C. God punished those that did not ( e.g. Nadab & Abihu )
