NEBUCHADEZZAR'S DREAM
Daniel 2

I. Nebuchadezzar's Dream  vs. 1-13
   A. He was afraid and could not sleep -  4: 5
   B. He was worried about the future - vs. 29
   C. He conquers the world but can't conquer his fears
   D. God used dreams to tell the future for both good and bad ( Joseph , Jacob ,
Abimelech , Midianites )
   E. The King orders the magicians to interpret the dream but he had forgotten what
it was
   F. His ultimatum was provide the interpretation or die
   G. He orders all the wise men to be killed including Daniel

 II. Arioch ( Captain of the Guard )  Comes To Kill Daniel vs. 14-23
   A. Daniel is calm under threat of death because he trusted God
   B. Daniel was brave to ask the King for time and he would interpret the dream 1:17
   C. Daniel prayed to God for his mercy and help
   D. After God revealed the dream Daniel prayed and praised God for his goodness

III. Daniel Meets With The King vs. 24-49
   A. He told the King that he saw a terrible image of five parts
      i) Head was gold - Babylon
      ii) Breast/arms were silver - Medes & Persians
      iii) Belly/thighs were brass - Greece
      iv) Legs were iron - Romans
      v) Feet were iron & clay - breakup of Roman Empire
      vi) A stone struck the image and completely destroyed it
   B. In those days ( feet of iron and clay ) God would set up a kingdom that
shall never be destroyed
      i) It shall consume the other kingdoms
      ii) The dream is certain

IV. Fulfillment Of The Dream  Mt. 16:16-19
   A. The Lord said Peter had the keys of the Kingdom which is his Church
   B. The gates of Hell will NEVER prevail against his Kingdom
   C. In Acts 2 Peter used the keys and 3000 Believed and were Baptized and
God added them to the Church
   D. Paul said he was IN the Kingdom - Col 1:13 and 4:11
   E. The Church was like sand in the great machinery of the remnants of the
Roman Empire and destroyed it

V. Conclusions
   A. God wanted the Jews to know he had not forgotten them
   B. God wanted the Gentile Kings to know that their days were numbered
   C. He wanted the world to know that his Son's Kingdom would come in the
fullness of time
   D. That Kingdom is on this world in the Church but is not of this world - it is Spiritual
