II Tim 2:15 ( INTRODUCTION)

  I. Relationships between Believers and God

   A. In the Patriachial System God spoke directly to the head of each family  ( Gen 12 :1 )

   B. In the Mosaic Period God spokes to the Israelites through Moses ( Ex 3:1-2 )

   C. In the Christian Age God speaks to the whole world through his Son ( Mt 6: 28-30 )          

II. Different Things Were Told To Different People Regarding What They
Must Do To Be Saved

   A.Noah was told to build an Ark ( Heb 11:7 )

   B. Moses and the Israelites were told to keep the 10 Commandments to be saved ( Ex 34: 1-15 )        

   C. The Rich Young Ruler was told to sale everything and give it away to gain eternal life ( Lk 18:22 )

   D. Paul was told to be baptized and wash away his sins

III. Diferent Things Were Told To Different People Regarding Worship

   A. Cain and Able were told to offer the first and bloody sacrifice ( Gen 4: 1-8 & Heb 11:4 )

   B. The Israelites were told to worship God through the Tabernacle ( Num 1:51 - 2 : 34 )

   C. Christians were told told to take the Lord's Supper to remember the Lord ( Lk 22: 19-20 )

   D. There was punishment and reward for those that worshipped incorrectly / correctly

IV . Conclusions

   A. We must rightly divide God's word to know what God wants US to do

   B. We plan to study an overview of the entire Bible to see :

      1. what God wants us to do to be saved

      2. how God wants us to worship him

      3. how we are to live

      4. see the blessings for serving him
