JESUS FULFILLS THE LAW OF MOSES
I. His Birth and childhood
A. He always existed - Jn 1:1-7
B. Jesus was born of a virgin - Mt 1:1-25
C. Worshipped by shepherds and Wise Men - Lk 2:8-20 ; Mt 2:1-12
D. Jesus goes to the Temple at age 12 - Lk 2:41-47
E. Jesus grew in favor with God and man - Lk 2: 52
II. John Prepares The Way
A. He was the forerunner of the Lord - Mk 1:1-8
B. He baptizes those that confessed their sins - Mk 1:5
C. After he baptized Jesus ( to fulfill God's plan ) the Spirit as a Dove descended on Jesus and God recognizes him as his Son - Jn 1:32
III. Jesus' Ministry
A. He calls his disciples to be fishers of men - Jn 1:40-51
B. Jesus performed many miracles
i) water into wine - Jn 2:1-11
ii) raised Lazarus from the dead - Jn 11:43
iii) healed the sick - Jn 6:2
iv) walked on the water - Jn 6:19
C. Jesus' teachings
i) sermon on the mount - Mt 5-8
ii) limited commission ( Jews ) - Mt 10
iii) used parables to make his lessons easy to understand ( e.g. parable
of the seed and the kingdom Mt 13 )
iv) Great Commission ( whole world ) Mt 28 : 18-20
v) taught about his kingdom - Mt 16:16-20
IV. Jesus Is Crucified And Raised From The Grave
A. Triumphal entry into Jerusalem - Mt 21:9
B. The Last Supper instituting his memorial feast - Mt 26:17
C. Jesus denied by a friend - Mt 26:48
D. Jesus before Pilate - Mt 27: 17-22
E. Jesus forgives the thief on the cross - Lk 23:39
F. Jesus forgives those who killed him - Lk 23:34
G. They crucified our Lord - Mt 27:27-54
H. Up from the grave he arose - Jn 19:30
V. Conclusions
A. Jesus is the central theme of the entire Bible
i) somebody is coming
ii) somebody is here
iii) somebody is coming back
B. Jesus and the Law of Moses
i) he lived and died under the Law
ii) he fulfilled the Law - Mt 5:17
iii) he took the Law away and nailed to his cross - Col 2:14
C. We are under the new covenant which is much better and can save us

D. We can't be under TWO covenants - Heb 8:13 ; Heb 9: 15-17
