THE PATRIARCHIAL AGE - Moses

  I.  When Joseph died

      A.  Joseph asked his family to take his body back to Canaan to be

           buried.  Genesis 50:22-26

     B.   The Egyptians persecuted the Israelites and killed the baby boys.

           Exodus 2:1-4

     C.  Baby Moses was put into a waterproof basket, hidden in the bulrushes

          and found by Pharaoh's daughter.  

  II. Moses chooses to suffer with God's people.

     A.  He was raised as a prince in Egypt .

     B.  He killed an Egyptian who was beating an Israelite slave.

     C.  He fled to Midian to escape the Pharoah.

III. Moses lived as a shepherd in Midian.

     A.  While tending the sheep Moses talked to God in a burning bush.

     B.  God instructed Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt .

IV. Moses obeys God.

     A.  Moses demands that Pharaoh let God's people go.

     B.  Each time God sends a plague, Pharaoh agrees to let the

          Israelites go but then changes his mind.

     C.  Finally God sends the death angel to kill the first born of man and

          animals at all homes which did not have blood over the doors and lentils.

     D.  When the Israelites left Egypt , the Patriarchal Age comes to an end.
