PATRIARCHAL AGE ( Adam to Moses ) Part 1

I. The Bible Periods
   A. Patriarchal - God talked directly to the head of the family
   B. Mosaic - God talked to the Israelites through Moses and the Old Covenant
   C. Christian - God talks to the whole world through Jesus and the New Covenant
 
II. The Creation
   A. God created the Earth from nothing ( Gen 1:1 )
   B. God created man in his image ( Gen 1:26 )
   C. God created woman to help man
   D. Man and Woman were tempted and they sinned
   E. God punished Adam and Eve for their sin
   F. Adam and Eve after sin
   G. God accepted Able's worship because he did it the way God said
   H. God rejected Cain's worship because he did not
 
III . The Flood ( Gen 6 )
   A. God gave Noah a task and a plan to follow
   B. The ark floated because he built it the way God directed ( Gen 6:22)
   C. Evidence of the flood
 
IV. Abraham ( Gen 15 )
   A. God Promised Abraham would be the person through whom the World would be blessed
   B. God blessed Abraham because he trusted God even though it took a long time to fulfill his promise
   C. God blessed Isaac ( Abraham's son ) with twin boys ( Jacob and Esau
   
V. Conclusions
   A. God made the world and established the natural laws -  he can break them if it suits him
   B. Obeying God means doing WHAT he says the WAY he says - we must obey the commands that apply to us
   C. Being sincere is not enough - obeying God is the key ( e.g. Cain's worship )
